About Me

My photo
Everything happens for a reason. This is what i keep telling myself these days. With all the troubles that i had last year, i pray that i come out on top as a stronger person.

For one chapter to begin, one must be closed. I'm closing the chapter of my life where i am a victim of circumstance, and opening a new chapter where I am full of optimism. I got accepted into Sierra College's Nursing Program for Fall 2009 . I know this is the start of a better life for us. I'm extremly blessed and fortunate to have gotten into the program after only applying once. I'm taking this as a sign from whatever greater power there is out there that this is what I am truly supposed to be doing. i'm not taking anything for granted anymore.

Updates

The year started with me having major anxiety about my last semester of nursing school. Breaks are always much needed when you're a nursing student, but it always comes with a bit of angst. There so much to do in such little time, and so many exams that, if you don't get at a certain level, there's a possibility that you can get kicked out of the program. To say that I was under a lot of pressure is a understatement. I felt like my heart was going to implode on itself a lot of the times.

Come May 2011, I was extremely happy that pinning was right around the corner and that I had survived. It was sad that not my whole class made it to the end, but nonetheless, one of the happiest days of my life. Though I'm glad it's over, I kinda miss being immersed in nursing everyday.

I passed the NCLEX on June 30, 2011.

When the grind of nursing school was over, I settled back in my role as mommy and wife. My daughter started Kindergarten in August, and she's loving it! She's making lots of new friends, and she's learning so much. She got almost a perfect report card for the first semester. I'm so proud of her!

I've been working my regular schedule at work, which has been tough. I didn't know it would be this tough to find a nursing job. I've applied to probably 200 hundred positions already all over California and some out of state. I just hope something comes soon.

To pass the time, I've taken ACLS, an ECG course at UCSF, and plan to take PALS and NRP in the very near future. I'm volunteering for the California International Marathon on December 4th as on of their medical volunteers: http://www.runcim.org/. I commend any marathon runner out there. I know I would not even be able to survive the first mile. This one is over 25 miles! WOW!

I watched 'Breaking Dawn: Part 1' on Friday night last week and it was awesome!!! I was at the theaters for 5 1/2 hrs total but it was totally worth it. i loved it and i can't wait to see it again very soon. I can't wait for part 2!!!

My daughter turned 5 in October and Tai & I will be having our 6th wedding anniversary on November 25th, which falls on Thanksgiving this year. It's hard to believe that the years have gone by so quickly. I'm thankful to have these two in my life. I love u guys so much!

To come...

Hopefully a job as a RN very soon. Gotta think positive :D
